Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and Other Methods

Nicotine replacement therapy involves nicotine being absorbed into your bloodstream from an external source such as patches, gum, inhalers – in fact any source other than cigarettes. This is designed to quell the cravings of nicotine during your quit process. All the forms of NRT have a success rate of only 10%-20%, depending on the scientific study. This means that 80-90% of the time people fail. Not only does NRT fail most of the time, it also has dangerous side effects. Such as: nausea and indigestion, itching and redness of the skin if using patches, and nightmares – occasionally the side effects can be more serious. So there is very little chance of it working, and a very big chance of physical harm. Hypnosis is completely safe, drug and chemical free and WORKS…which is why we offer our commitment to help you quit for life.

Patches

Nicotine Replacement Therapy patches are applied to the skin and come in a variety of strengths to suit smokers of varying degrees of habit. In warmer temperatures they often peel off which adds to the cost with replacements. People often smoke with the patch on or even remove the patch to smoke a cigarette. They can cause irritation to the skin and nausea.

Based on recommended time frame for usage of patches alone 10 – 16 weeks COST $370 – $650

If you combine patches with nicotine gum, which research indicates helps, then this will add approximately another $100 to $300 to the bill. COST $470-$750

Nicotine Gum

Nicotine Chewing Gum 2mg (8-10 pieces per day) or 4mg (4-6 pieces per day):You may experience some side effects from using nicotine gum. These usually occur in the first weeks of using the gum and are most likely due to chewing incorrectly or to the effects of nicotine. This may include dizziness, sore mouth or throat, jaw-muscle ache, nausea, indigestion or heartburn, and or hiccups. Some effects such as irritability, sleep disturbances and light headedness may be withdrawal symptoms due to low nicotine levels.  Some people who persevere become “hooked” on the gum and basically replace the cigarettes with the gum. Some people have said the gum costs more than the cigarettes.

For a standard course of 15 – 20 weeks of nicotine gum alone, you can expect the COST to be $450 – $650

Nicotine Lozenges

Nicotine Lozenges – 2mg & 4mg – 1 lozenge every 1-2 hours for the first 6 weeks. No more than 1 lozenge at a time and do not exceed more than 15 per day. You may experience some side effects from using the nicotine lozenge. These usually occur in the first weeks of using the nicotine lozenge and may include a bitter taste, sore throat, mouth irritation, difficulty in swallowing, headaches, nausea, indigestion or heartburn, hiccups, dizziness and or belching.

Nicotine lozenges and nicotine tablets are placed and dissolved under the tongue. COST approximately $550 for a 12 week course in lozenges

Nicotine Tablets

Nicotine Tablets -2mg-initial dose is 1-2 tablets every 1 to 2 hours. Up to 8-12 per day, no more than 40 per day. You may experience some side effects from using the nicotine tablet. These usually occur in the first weeks of using the nicotine tablet and may include burning sensation in the mouth, sore throat, dry mouth, coughing, headache, nausea, indigestion and or hiccups.

Tablets are recommended for a course between 3 and 6 months. COST about $400 – $600 for 3 months, low consumption. COST $1000 – $1200 for big pill-poppers If you use them for 6 months, you can roughly double these figures. At the maximum recommended dosage of 40 tablets a day over 6 months, you will fork out about $4000

Nicotine Inhaler

Nicotine Inhaler is a plastic tube that contains a plug loaded with nicotine. It is held like a cigarette, when you inhale the cartridge releases nicotine to relieve the craving. 10mg is the administered strength. Most people tend to use an average of 6 cartridges per day. You cannot use more than 12 a day. Common side effects are irritation in the throat and mouth, and coughing, irritability, sleep disturbances and light headedness may also occur. You may also notice dizziness, headache, sore throat, mouth ulcers, vomiting, indigestion or heartburn, sinusitis, hiccups and or nasal congestion.

Nicotine inhalers satisfy the hand-to-mouth routine some smokers crave, and these will COST approximately $1000 to $2000 for an 18 to 20 week course

Prescription drugs

The prescription drugs bupropion (brand names Zyban SR, Clorpax, Prexaton and Bupropion-RL) and varenicline (brand name Champix) can also reduce some nicotine withdrawal symptoms. These drugs must be prescribed by your doctor as they are not suitable for everyone and can often have nasty side effects such nausea, vomiting, headaches, hallucinations.

National Health Service reports have shown that zyban can be completely ineffective unless combined with other psychological or group type treatment-for example, hypnosis or group support . People have actually died as a side effect from this drug. The Makers of this drug state that 1 in 1000 will suffer convulsions that could lead to death. Customer Testimonials

Hi Maureen,

You worked your wonders on me on the 16th of January 2013 for smoking and guess what? I haven’t had a smoke or even felt like one! It is truly amazing after smoking for over 30 years I am no longer a slave to the smokes. I feel better (although I was a bit grumpy for a week or so) but that has passed, I can breathe better and my cough has gone. But food tastes so much better so I am trying to watch what I eat. I do get a craving every now and then and it goes as quick as it comes. I was at a customer’s place and both husband and wife were smoking in front of me and it didn’t worry me at all. I am sure I have saved the $495.00 that I spent to give up already. I just want to say thank you so much for making me a non smoker. By the way, I have told every smoker I have met about you.
Regards

-Giovanni (John) Castellana

This is certainly a much less painful way to stop smoking. I recommend you to anyone who is interested, even had someone ask about weight loss. Hope all is well for you.
