Healing Properties of Vitamin C

You always hear that you need vitamin C, get enough vitamin C, vitamin C is a cure-all etc. But do you really know much about it, other than the general idea that it is good for you? This vitamin is one of the most important nutrients that humans and animals need to survive. Known also as an ascorbate or ascorbic acid, vitamin C is a vital antioxidant and facilitates enzymatic reactions and collagen synthesis without which people develop scurvy and have difficulty healing wounds and preventing bleeding in capillaries. It strengthens the immune system and helps the body fight of viral and bacterial infections. Let’s take a look at the healing properties of vitamin C in more depth:

· Antioxidant: Vitamin C protects our physical bodies from the toxins and free radicals that contribute to oxidative stress. When the body lacks antioxidants, it is much more vulnerable to the development of many medical conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer.

· Immune System: Vitamin C strengthens our immune systems unbelievably. It helps our bodies fight of viruses and bacteria, serves as a natural antihistamine when we are bogged down with the common cold, and gives us more energy and a quicker healing turn-around.

· Hypertension: Vitamin C can also help lower your blood pressure and this will help you to avoid the perils of hypertension and heart disease

· Healthy blood vessels: Vitamin C contributes to healthy blood vessels because it ensures that they dilate properly. This prevents high cholesterol, congestive heart failure, and angina pectoris, a condition that causes frequent and sever chest pains.

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that facilitates a variety of the most important functions in our body: our immune system and our cardiovascular system. Many people today lack adequate amounts of vitamin C in their systems, and this is especially true if you smoke, drink a lot of alcohol, are taking antibiotics, or even the birth control pill. Eating foods high in vitamin C, such as green vegetables and citrus fruits, is one way to provide your body with this important nutrient, but many people’s diets are still lacking vitamin C resources. One way to combat this is by taking vitamin C supplements. This is especially important during cold and flu season because vitamin C can help you ward of the germs that are flying at you from everywhere when everyone starts getting sick. These will help you to keep your vitamin C levels high and your physical body and overall sense of well-being vital and healthy.

Customer Testimonials

Hi Maureen. Just a quick note to say thank you. I have not had even a puff of cigarette since our session on 10 May 14. Any desire or thought flits straight out again. This is certainly a much less painful way to stop smoking. I recommend you to anyone who is interested, even had someone ask about weight loss. Hope all is well for you. Regards
